Anaura bay

Today I was doing a Tour Builder on the fun activity's we did on camp.

sushi

Sushi

On Wednesday the cooking tech got the opportunity to make sushi with the whole school because Japan hosted the rugby world cup. The tech students set up the stations before everyone came in, we each had a part to do I was cooking the beef while everyone else was busy. When a group of 12 students came in 4 of us got 3 each and made sushi. We did our maths before starting so we knew how many kids in a group. At the end us tech kids made our own sushi roll.

Real or Fake as?

Today I was learning how to find out what is fake and what is real on the internet.

I enjoyed trying to figure out what I should do for my topic.

I found it challenging to try and put me on the crocodile's back.

Next time I would change the topic from what is difficult at school to what is easy at school.

Made up hunting

As I have the 223 on my back the magazine full of bullets the stags roaring as loud as can be. It echos through the valley. I think he is looking for hinds all of a sudden BOOM!!! There is another hunter in here so I load the gun. Footsteps getting closer and closer I hide up the bank a little bit it comes around. It’s one 16 pointer stag with 5 hinds with him. Line them up BOOM BOOM BOOM the stag and 2 hinds. Now I've got to gut them and get them out of here. What on earth 4 fallow following behind. I quickly but silently load the magazine in the gun, load now shoot I get three. That’s enough. I quickly gut them. I’m luckily on a track and the motorbike is 100 metres away so I run back to get it. Oh no I've come across a problem there isn’t going to be enough room. Oh well I can try and get them all on first the stag, next hinds it’s full. I’m going to have to put them in the passenger seat. There is not going to be enough room in the chiller so i’m going to have to put them in 2 chillers. That is going to be a lot of meat to cut up so I will have to get some help and they can have some of the meat.

I taste… dirt as it flies through the air and into my mouth blood that comes with it.
I smell… scent of the dead animal gently blowing down the side of the hill. 
I feel… the railing of the fence and shaking in my hands. 
I hear… music pumping and people yelling and motorbikes roaring. 
I see… blood on people’s faces.

Today I was learning how to poly line the flag and flower as well as the animal.
I enjoyed concentrating on the line around the animal. 
I found it challenging to put a line around the animal

Next time I would change how we do the rose and add more detail.

Visiting the Hustlers

On Tuesday after lunch we got to go and feed and observe the Hustlers long fin eels.  We used venison to lure the eels so we could see them. Mrs Bennett brought the meat to school and Mrs Gault took the photos. In the container there was blood so we used it to bring the eels to us. When we got back we wrote either poems or instructions. I wrote instructions on 'How to lure an eel'.




How to lure an eel
You will need:
Fresh venison
A stick or harakeke or string.
Blood from meat.

Steps:
1.Make sure the stream or river is clear enough so you can see the length of the eel.
2.Put your piece of venison on your stick.
3.Tip blood into the water. (If you have any).
4.Sit so your stick with meat is in the murky water.
5.Put it near the top of the water so you can view the eel as it approaches the meat.
6.Shake your meat around in the water so they think they will have to fight for it.
7.Sit there nice and quietly until  you can see something dark creeping up on you.
8.If you have string or harakeke you can feel them tugging.
9.They seem to like their belly scratched too so once they eat your meat, try giving them a scratch.

Today I was learning how to use remove back ground it is a app that takes out your background clean.
I enjoyed coming up with an idea for me to be in and it was fun.

Lunapic

Today we learnt how to use lunapic.
It was easy when we got to choose our animation and our art which was finding different types of backgrounds and it did the skin as well. 
It was hard to find out how to put the photo on the website because I had to go into the folder then into recent to find a picture which I didn't know how to. 
It was challenging when we had to go into the file and save the image. 
I enjoyed making the different animations on the Lunapic

My dream vehicle
My dream vehicle is a Lamborghini Urus but with a Bugatti Veyron engine and supercharger boosters with the strongest off road tyres.  They would be like monster truck tyres.

It has A-K 47’s on the front with rocket launchers on the back when you put it in to sport mode it puts car tyres on automatically. It can go 380 kilometres an hour in sport.

It has invisibility at night. My car can transform into a private Boeing 747. My car would have a giant light bar and it can shine 11 km ahead of me. It can transform into a giant mansion. It would have triple turbo boosters.

Respect poster report

Room 4 had the chance to make respect posters. We each had a challenge to make it our our own unique posters. Respect to me is having a kind and positive attitude to one another. Respect is having it anywhere you are like holding the door for a stranger and you should have it when your at school, at home and when you're in public. 

For me respect is when I go places and using manners everywhere you are even in public. We had to write down what respect means to us. If anyone from out of our school came in and if they didn’t know how respect works then they would be able to read our respect posters and know how respect works in our school. 

In my family we have to use our manners like respecting each other's space. we also have to Respect that we. We're all not the same as we are. We're unique. And everyone has their own interests in something, which we have to accept. You also have to respect your elders and not be mean to your family.

Blog profile 2019

Hi, my name is John. I go to Matawai School. I am in year 7. I live in a family of 6. I am Maori. I am from Gisborne. I am in Room 4. I have two sisters and one brother. I enjoy playing rugby with my sister and brother.  

I am good at math. I enjoy writing and reading. My challenge this year is to work faster to get my maths, writing and reading tasks  completed.  My challenge with maths is to work with decimals. Art is hard because I don't have a steady hand.

I am looking forward to attending the Master Kai challenge. This is a cooking challenge at the end of the term. My personal goal is to not stutter when I'm up on stage in the War Memorial Theatre at the ukulele underground concert. Our  ukulele teacher is taking two groups.  I am really looking forward to the concert.
