I learned that once you start you feel better once your down the bottom of the hill.
I really enjoyed watching everyone's creations.
I found it hard to get my braveness up to go down because I looked at Miss Dods like "really".
I found it easy to get my go cart back to school.
Next time I would work on getting better brakes.

Wellington reflection

Today I worked on sisomo and creating a DLO about our school camp in Wellington.
I learned how to embed the spark adobe on to my blog.
I really enjoyed making the slides then downloading them into spark adobe.
I found it hard to find the photos for the slide show as they were all amazing.
I found it easy to do some of the writing.
Next time I am going to try to embed my own spark adobe.

Wellington camp 2018

  Travell day
On Sunday Room 4 went along the coast of the North Island in a huge bus that had an amazing talented driver named Don he struggled through some straights where it was really windy in some spots where the bus driver was having to slow down just in case we tipped we had John Redpath and Simon Hustler in the chase vehicle behind the bus once we were through the foreraters we arrived in Wairoa for a quick toilet stop for most of us because we had to all quickly go.
Next we shoot through into Napier for a run and some lunch that we had. We explored all around where we had eaten our lunch and all the history and famous people that had been there. Also there was a sun ball that it had instructions on what you had to do. Miss Dods had brought movies that we watched going through the whindy parts so we didn’t get sick and so we weren’t to loud. We also stopped in at Dannevirke for a petrol stop and to go toilet in mcdonalds. Then after our long trip to our retreat it was called Silverstream Retreat. Once we got into our base I put my bags on the bottom bunk there were 3 bunk beds in each room so Hohepa, Charlie B and I had a bunk bed each. The chefs were incredible cooking amazing meals for us all first we had lasagna the first night that was spectacular.



Day 1:
We woke up with a noke noke it was Mr Knight so we got up got dressed went into our meeting place in the front with our shoes on ready to run with Carole Redpath we ran around the retreat. Down the hill and to a field about 1 minute away but we did some activities that warmed us up to get ready for the day. Some of us had showers. Then we went to the dining room on display for breakfast there was Coco Pops, Rice Bubbles, WeetBix, Muesli and toast with all the toppings like Honey, Marmite, peanut butter and different jams. Next we wander off back to our base. Once we got to Parliament we saw our educator his name was William Davies he told us to put our bags in a lock up cage so we could sit in the seats and I ended up being the Prime Minister but in the pretend debating chamber. Which I thought was pretty cool as it is the same as the real debating chamber same carpet but not the same chairs when we went in to the real chamber we didn’t get to sit in there chairs I

Wellington

Room 4 wrote about Wellington locations for where we are going on camp and I wrote about Wellington zoo and I wrote an imaginary piece of writing I had to then put it in a story that we had to read to room 3. I was frightened but then I became confident.

It started on a gloomy foggy morning. I want to touch an elephant and also touch a tiger. I want to see gorillas, baboons, dingo and a scorpion. I am going to enjoy learning about the animals as well as going around at feeding time. But then I would want to be a animal at night then I looked outside it was night.

I want to be a lion at night roaring as loud as I can be, tearing up my raw beef straight from a farm and the blood dripping from my mouth. If the animals get let out I would hope that they had been feed otherwise I wouldn’t be there very long if they hadn’t been feed. There are so many interesting animals.

It was 5 o’clock in the morning. Then all of a sudden this scary headless monster appeared out of nowhere and it I guessed it was afraid of the sunlight because it was trying to find a dark place to hide but of course it was walking into everything and anything.     
had knifes all through it, had hawk talons as the front feet, paws and a body like a human.
My class had already left 10 hours ago but it was because I had gone to the bathroom. I came out, it was like it was abandoned. There was no one walking around, it was dead silence. So then I climbed up a ladder then fell into this pond thing. Next I climbed out and found this big furry animal. It was like a pillow so I fell right to sleep then I woke up and this is where I’m now.

Reflective Symmetry

In room 4 we are learning about reflective symmetry we had to use foam shapes to make anything we wanted but we had to fold our rectangle piece of paper into quarters. Reflective symmetry means when you mirror your artwork it is the same in the mirror. You draw half of your shape on one side and the other on the other side. There was also rotational symmetry. I did reflective symmetry. I found a mistake so I had to take my time to fix it but in the end I got it all fixed by photocopying.

Today I worked on the Google Doc Ninja Challenge.

Today I earned the white, green belt.

I am aiming to get the red, black and Google belt.

I found it hard to do the urls but the second time I got them, with a bit of help from Mrs Torrie. 

I found it easy to get through the white and green belts but they are getting challenging.

I found it easy to make up my imagination and just write it down.
I found it hard to get a sentence starter that would try to hook my reader.

We were learning about Wellington Zoo and all the special and endangered animals in their enclosure.
I found it easy to find the animals in the Zoo and find the endangered animals.
I found it hard to find where they live and what they do but in the end we got there.
I really enjoyed finding out that you can feed the tigers and see the animals at feeding time
Next time I need to be quicker with the information.

Looks like animals, jumping as tall as a business buildings.
Smells like fresh manure, getting cleaned up.
Tastes like raw meat, making its way to the cages.
Feels like the cold glass as my hands are pushing up  against it.

We were learning how to use Spark adobe and sisomo.

I really enjoyed learning how to use Spark adobe and its features.  

I found it hard to upload on the chromebook.  

It was easy to pick background music.   

Next time I need to add more detail as this is my first time using sisomo and Spark adobe.

Sisomo is about getting sight, sound and motion into a digital learning object (DLO).

Buffalo Getaway

Camping in the crispy dry grass, waiting patiently.

My prey is inching closer and closer, I’m getting hungry just looking at it. I imagined the tough meat and all that juicy red blood underneath the hair. My mouth was watering just looking at it.

Right! I jump and miss. I run as fast as I can then leaping. I’m on. My claws dig deep. I slide off. It runs. “No you can’t getaway now, my stomach is hungry and I need to take you home for my family, otherwise they will starve to death.”

I start running but the buffalo’s already ahead. So we let it off because we're running out of energy. I slowed down. We weren't quite quick enough I thought to myself. I am hungry though. I am not going to let myself down. So I run with all might and pull him to the ground. As he yelps for help, I kill it.

Reflection

I have done Rodney Carrigton for two weeks I had to not copy and paste the information or else it is just plagiarism but we could have 10% off the websites we used.

I did Rodney Carrington because he is hilarious and I love a lot of country music and a bit of heavy metal. I enjoyed finding facts and learning more that I didn’t know before like that he had three kids and a ex wife and that they broke up in 2012.

adrenalin reflection

This is our adrenalin writing, that the year 6’s and year 5's had to write about a certain video every wednesday. I enjoyed writing about extreme bike writing and making chicken noises from a cup using wool, I love writing adrenalin, If you have not tried adrenalin.

This is Rodney Carrington that I have done for two weeks as well as my AC/DC I had to not copy and paste it all or else it is just plagiarism but we could have 10% off the website.

I did Rodney Carrington because he is hilarious and I love country music. I enjoyed finding facts and learning more that I didn’t know before like that he had three kids and a ex wife and that they got together in 1993 and broke up in 2012.

We had to put the words out of the book in our own words just like the inquiry arts because otherwise it is Plagiarism. I did world’s greatest trail’s because Miss Dods just gave it to me so I went from there and I did Appalachian trail through America. I enjoyed publishing it on google drawings and getting all the facts out of the book and putting it in my own words. What would you have chosen?

Escape

Rustling through the deep thick bed of leaves with an acorn in my mouth. Trying to keep out of sight the eagle, perched upon the bare branch. Looking for good spots for breakfast, lunch and dinner where all the nuts are.

I step on a crunchy old leaf. So I take off making it obvious that I’m here. Sprinting up a tree to get away as he dive bombs at me, but I leap from branch to branch. Also free falling. Jumping in my house but he's breaking it. I fall out.

I spot a hollow tree in the distance, so I do a huge jump and into the tree with the hole just in time. He comes at me. I’m safe at last. But I better keep an eye out for that eagle, just in case he returns or I see another great hideout close to my old burrow.

Reflection

I chose AC/DC because of there loud rock ‘n’ roll and how it is world wide. I enjoyed getting the facts and information and using google drawings and docs. we had to summarise the word's off the page but we could keep 10% of the website's imformation but no more.

Hi my name is John. I go to Matawai School and I’m in room 4 and I am a year 6. I live in a family of 6. I'm good at adrenaline writer. I like playing with my friends on the ropes.

Challenges are to write more detail. My goals in maths are to know my multiplication and division. My goals are also to write more detail and descriptive writing my adrenaline writing.

I'm looking forward to finishing my inquiry about my artist. My step-dad inspires me to be a farmer and a fencer.
